Under the Pine Trees is the tale of a woman who returns to her hometown after learning of the death of one her teachers. While there, she is left to reflect on the life and the people she once knew, and on what she wants from her life moving forward. When developping this cover design, I wanted to showcase the hopeful atmosphere that this book creates. I chieved this through an illustration, drawn from the perspective of looking up into the trees, and with a golden light haloing their edges. This also represents the idea of looking at things in new ways, much as the main character looks at her own life from a new point of view.
